Today, we will discuss how we can become spiritually strong by anchoring ourselves in Christ. Each of us faces many storms and difficult situations in our lives that take us away from God. Just as a ship needs an anchor to steady itself in the stormy sea, we need Jesus to keep us steadfast in faith during difficult situations in our lives. By holding on to Jesus, we remain steadfast in faith and find peace and hope in life.
From the life of Peter, we see that when he saw Jesus walking on the water, he trusted Jesus and got out of the boat. When he kept his eyes on Jesus in faith, he also kept walking on the water. But the moment he took his eyes off Jesus, he began to sink. From this incident, we can learn that if we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can rise above the problems. But if we keep our eyes on the problems, instead of God, then we begin to sink.
Jesus said that the one who receives and obeys his teachings is like a wise man who built his house on rock, where the storms and floods cannot destroy it. So if we follow Jesus’ teachings and remain steadfast in our faith, nothing can separate us from God.
We should pray and read the Word regularly to be anchored in Christ. Through this, we can strengthen our relationship with God, which will help us to stand firm in the face of the storms of life.
Let us look at the following Bible verses that talk about being ‘anchored in Christ’.
