The idea of reuniting with loved ones in heaven fills our hearts joyfully. The Bible beautifully describes this reunion, which helps us understand that the separation in this world is temporary. But God will reunite his children.
The life we have after death can only be known through Jesus Christ. And in his teachings, we see that we have eternal life and he came to earth to give us that eternal life. Jesus said that he would come again to this earth and take his followers to where he lives.
So let us always be mentally prepared. Our death in this world is not the end. But death is the door to our eternal life.
King David consoled himself after the loss of his child by saying that he would be reunited with his child after death. He countered the sorrow of losing his child with the promise of eternal life. Saint Paul wrote in his letter that the great reconciliation will take place when Jesus Christ returns. He wrote to us that we will be caught up to meet Jesus in the clouds in the air.
The resurrection of Jesus teaches us to believe that there is eternal life, and we will be resurrected like Jesus. As Jesus lives, so we will live. That is why Jesus said that whoever believes in me will never see death.
