God’s Word teaches us to love our neighbors. Through loving our neighbors, we can show kindness and mercy to them. We know that God is love and He wants us to love one another. By loving our neighbors, we reveal God’s character: He is a loving God.
The story of the Good Samaritan mentioned in the Bible is a beautiful example of loving our neighbors. This parable shows a man beaten and left on the road. None of the people passing by came forward to help the man, but a Samaritan took care of the injured man and even sheltered him.
From this story, we can learn that a neighbor is not just someone who lives near our house. But the one who helps and shows us mercy in our time of trouble is our neighbor.
When we see someone in trouble, we should help them. Since we are children of light, we need to follow the path shown by God. If we love people, we will be able to help them in their trouble. Therefore, if we have the love of God in our hearts, we can be good neighbors.
God’s Word tells us to never get tired of doing good works. He will reward us for all our work. We need to remember not to work for the sake of the reward but to work out of the love of our hearts and help others in need.
