To live a righteous life, we must obey God’s laws. God’s laws are not burdensome; they guide us to live in a way that pleases Him. The Bible teaches us to obey God’s commands and the laws of the country, too.
The Bible teaches us to respect and obey all authorities. God appoints these authorities to maintain order and justice. By respecting these laws, we carry out God’s plan. By following the laws, we are truly obeying God.
From the life of Daniel, we can learn how we should be subject to the law. Daniel was a godly young man who lived in a foreign land. Despite various obstacles, he was faithful to God’s laws and was obedient to the laws of the land.
But when the laws of the land went against God’s laws, he obeyed God by obeying God’s laws. From this, we can learn that we should respect and honor the law of the earth, but our ultimate obedience should be to God.
Jesus taught us to obey the laws of the world. He said to give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. This means that we should live in harmony where we obey the laws of this world but give priority to the laws of God above all else.
Dear friends, now let’s look at the following Bible verses that discuss obeying the law.
Romans 13:1-5 : —
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of GodWhosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: they that resist shall receive to themselves damnationFor rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, thou shalt have praise of the sameFor he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evilWherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake”
