One of the goals of our lives should be to imitate Jesus and become more like him. God has called us to live our lives in a way that brings us joy. By becoming like Jesus, we follow his character, his actions, and his teachings. Jesus taught us how to love God and how to love our enemies.
From Jesus, we can learn how to forgive our transgressors, how to love our enemies, how to heal the sick, and how to feed the hungry. When we follow his teachings, we become like him. In this way, we begin to love others, and peace comes into our lives.
He showed us how to be humble. He showed us by washing the feet of his disciples that no one is great in the kingdom of God. He showed us that we can become children of God only if we can remove the pride that is in us and humble ourselves.
He also taught us how to be obedient and respectful to God. Just as He always did His Father’s will, even to the point of death, we should also do God’s will. We must seek God’s will in our lives and follow it.
Jesus told us to be perfect like the Father. We need to live like Jesus because He never sinned. So we should also live a holy life like Him and please God.
When we accept Jesus’ teachings and live that way, we become more like Jesus. Let us look at the following Bible verses that talk about becoming more like Jesus.
