The Word of God encourages us to embrace all kinds of virtues. God has given us virtues so that we can walk in the path of righteousness and morality. When we walk in the way of the Lord, we see that through virtues we can truly enjoy our lives.
Since we are sinners and sin lives in our bodies, we often do wrong things without knowing it. Since there is nothing good in us, we do bad things and because of this we become mentally depressed. On the other hand, when we embrace virtues through the Word of God, we begin to walk in newness of life and begin to enjoy real life.
When we embrace virtues and live by them, the people around us are also happy to associate with us and they also try to change their lifestyles. In this way, through virtues, we can change our lives and change others too.
